About Me

Me and my dog Moose hiking in Bozeman, Montana
After living in Bozeman, Montana, for 18 years, I have switched scenery and moved down to Salt Lake City, Utah, to pursue my bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Utah. As a kid, my passion for technology started with sneaking onto my computer to play video games late at night. This passion really started to ignite after building my first computer when I was 12 years old, when my dad, brother, and I built a computer from scratch. After that, I was hooked. Fiddling with hardware tweaks and overclocking parts of my computer to squeeze out extra performance became my fun on the side (of course, this was all so I could play video games at higher FPS). Then from there, I decided that computer science was going to be my path in college, and here I am today. A junior in college, learning everything I can about the field of computer science.
My areas of interest within computer science are quite broad. At first, I started only wanting to do backend work with Java or C#. Then I had an internship where I worked on building AI agents and doing extensive data engineering; I found myself utterly engrossed in learning everything about AI in that 12-week stint. Inspired by my internship, I started taking more AI and machine learning courses; my passion for them continues to deepen. However, after swearing off front-end because I had to code in React, I have since come around to it. You see, my friends and I are building a fitness app together as a passion project, and I was reluctantly put in charge of building the front end. I switched one giant tech company’s front-end coding language for another as I have been building our mobile app in Flutter, and it’s safe to say I’m in love.
You may think all I do is code, but trust me, I have hobbies too. My biggest obsession in life is working out and lifting weights (hence the inspiration for the fitness app). I also am a hiker, snowboarder, pickleballer, trail-runner, soccer player, frisbee player, and asian food connoisseur. Oh, and if you talk to me about geopolitics or pirates, I probably won’t shut up.
